Jack Bass, the devious uncle of Gossip Girl's Chuck (Ed Westwick), is set to return to the show later this season, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
"I will be back this year," says Desmond Harrington, who plays the character. "I think it's episode 15 or 16 where I show back up. It's fun playing Uncle Jack."
When we last saw Jack, he tried to attack Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford), who had taken over Bass Industries for Chuck. Jack was then sent packing back to Australia with a sore jaw after being punched by Chuck.
Harrington, who currently plays Det. Quinn on Dexter, says the producers asked him to come back, but he doesn't yet know the plot details surrounding Jack's return to New York. However, the actor says he hopes to continue making Chuck's life a living hell. "I think, if anything, I am there to screw that kid's life up basically," Harrington says. "I think he might be, out of all the most evil characters the show has ever had on it, the most evil character. He's evil."

I don't know about this....if he messes with Chuck and Blair's relationship, I will go nuts! But, I like the actor and I like how evil the character was...until 2.16. I just wonder what kind of havoc he is going to cause this time. I just can't get the image out of my head that he slept with Blair, that still erks me to no end. Oh and after he left the show last season REMEMBER IT WENT DOWN HILL! UGH. FUCK, what do you think?

I know Jack is uber evil. But, if written well, evil can be good. Plus,I really like Desmond Harrington. Look at him. He is a babe. And he played Jack so darn well. He will without a doubt cause major drama on the show...but I am kind of looking forward to it. And I am sure Chuck and Blair can handle Chuck's psycho relative.

ReplyDeleteOne thing I like about GG are the villians. Not the lame minor ones that span over a few episodes *cough gabriel cough* but the ones that keep recurring ... Jack Bass, Whoregina and Nates grandfather. (and Cece, but shes not really a villian is she? I hope they don't kill her!)

ReplyDeleteI feel like a traitor but...I'm looking forward to some angst in Chuck and Blair's relationship, and I have a feeling the Jack (B)Ass will be the cause of some of it. They're just so damn good at doing angst! And they'll overcome it, of course. :)
