Everything that is wrong with the Chate(Chuck and Nate) friendship.

I am a firm supporter that the Chuck and Nate friendship is the worst friendship on the planet. And of course I have reasons to back it up. I did like Chate in season 1 and I thought the chemistry between the two of them was really there for a friendship and I loved how they always spent a lot of time together. I also loved how Chuck bailed Nate out of the problems with Carter and it really proved that Chuck would do anything for Nate because he loved him and he was his best friend. Then came Chuck taking Blair's virginity. I do not in any way shape or form support a guy sleeping with his best friends girlfriend or vice-versa but Nate was pathetic in season 1 after he found out that Chuck was sleeping with her. He never loved Blair, he was in love with Serena and Chuck knew that. Chuck was being the good friend and hid the secret for Nate about how Nate slept with Serena WHILE HE WAS DATING BLAIR, and Chuck supported Nate when he treated Blair like a piece of shit. When Blair and Nate finally broke up in 1x07, Blair went to Victrola to support Chuck(like she promised). Chuck was there to support Blair during her break up and he finally saw Blair for who she is. When Blair kissed Chuck he didn't stop her because he always had a fascination for her and I know he wasn't thinking about Nate at the time. Then came 1x13 and Nate finds out that Blair and Chuck slept together and Nate runs to Blair being the hypocritical asshole that he is and doesn't even let her explain and THEY WERE BROKEN UP AT THE TIME. He also attacks Chuck and accuses him of using Blair(hypocritical again because that is what he did) and is so quick to throw his life long friendship with Chuck away. Chuck let's the love of his life go because he lost his best friend. Chuck tries to apologize to Nate on various occasions and even tries to help Nate with his father in the SEASON 1 finale and then finally Nate forgives him.

Then comes the end of season 1 and I do recall a certain Nathaniel saying to Serena how he was for Chuck and Blair and he even knew Chuck had TRUE feelings for Blair because he has never loved any girl before and he used those 4 words in the same sentence as Blair.

Let me start with how fucked up season 2 was in the Chate friendship department. Yes, in season 1 I was still sort of supporting them as friends because of course they are both part of the NJBC and I adored that relationship as well, until the WRITERS FUCKED IT UP ROYALLY. Anyway, Chuck finds out that Nate and his mother are having financial problems so he goes and SELLS HIS CLUB to help Nate out! SOLD HIS BABY, VICTROLA, WHERE HE FIRST SAW BLAIR LET LOOSE. That was his baby!! And he sold it to help Nate out of his financial problems and what does Nate do?? He turns him down, gets mad at him and goes and asks Catherine for help. Okay, so you would go ask the woman you are sleeping with, who she is cheating on her rich husband with you, for help instead of taking the money from your best friend? Yes, I know men have pride but wouldn't you rather take the money from your best friend, who has no strings attached then the woman who blackmails you? This just proves that Nate is an ungrateful, hypocritical bastard that doesn't know anything good that is in front of him.

Onto the middle of season 2 when Nate ditches Chuck for Dan. WHY?!? WHY?!?! WHY DID HE DITCH HIS BEST FRIEND OF ALL HIS LIFE FOR DANIEL HUMPHREY?! I DON'T FUCKING KNOW. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD FILL ME IN BECAUSE I HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE. That is a friend?!? Someone that ditches you the person that has been there for you through everything and has truly been a good friend to you and you just drop him like a bad habit for no flipping reason at all. Then Chuck's father dies, and where is Nate?!? Yeah, some of you may argue that he was there during the break down but he wasn't. He was there to help Blair at the funeral and that is it. Chuck runs off to Tailand, almost kills himself on the roof, goes into a downward spiral and where was Nate?!? OH YEAH, NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. Then comes 2x15 and Nate is there for "support" as they read his father's will. YEAH OKAY. MORAL SUPPORT MY ASS. THE ONLY PERSON THAT WAS THERE AND TRULY MEANT EVERY WORD OF IT WAS BLAIR! THE ONLY PERSON.

Do I even want to start on the end of season 2 when Nate goes back with BLAIR. LMFAOOO!! That is the most hilarious part. Nate knew that Chuck was in love with Blair. Hello Chuck was fighting his feelings for Blair the whole season, and he even admitted to Nate last year that he was in love with Blair. Nate doesn't have any interaction with Blair all season and then all of a sudden he is in love with her again. Sorry that is just laughable. Seriously. Then he goes to Chuck while Chuck is obviously in a state of depression to go melt about the girl that Chuck is in love with and then says he is going to pour him a drink and will brb, and then BAILS ON HIM. Then tells Chuck how "it's never nothing with you two". Okay, so he knew that Chuck was still in love with her and that Blair was still in love with him. So basically Nate was a piece of shit friend to Chuck for just getting back together with Blair to begin with then treating Chuck like a piece of dirt for all of season 2. Then Nate goes and tells Dan that he found out who his true friend is and it was him. YEAH AND CHUCK WASN'T HIS TRUE FRIEND?!? FUCKING HILARIOUS. Not to mention Chuck helped Vanessa to get Nate to turn his father into the feds, and again he was a total prick.

Chuck values his friendship with Nate way more than Nate values his friendship with Chuck. Chuck bailed Nate out of the shit with Carter, sold his club to help Nate financially, helped him through the drama with his father, and was there on various occasions to help Nate with anything. What did Nate do in return? He was hardly there for Chuck during his break down, Chuck almost killed himself and where was Nate? Oh yeah pimping it with all those whores. Ditched Chuck for Dan, went back to Blair, when he knew that Blair was in love with Chuck and that Chuck was in love with Blair, and didn’t even want her, whether he said he did or not. Went to Chuck to talk about the girl that Chuck was in love with, saw how depressed Chuck was but only cared about his own problems to sit and talk with Chuck. I think the Chate friendship is destroyed beyond repair. It’s one sided-cared more about than the other. Let me close this argument by saying that I just can't respect the Chate friendship anymore. I think the damage is done beyond repair. It will never be fixable. That is no friendship at all and it should not be advertised on T.V. as a friendship.

And the only person that was ever there for Chuck all the time was Blair. She is his best friend. And Eric is also a good friend to Chuck. Nate is garbage, Serena is unbelievable after what she pulled at Bart's funeral. I will even go as far as saying that Dan is more of a friend to Chuck than Nate is. The Chate friendship is no friendship at all. With friends like that, who needs enemies. I don't want to hear the argument that Nate is a pot head and doesn't know better. Because Chuck smokes more than Nate does and he still knows how to be there for the ones he loves. It's not that hard.
