I’m going to focus more on Season One than Season Two. Some of my conclusions may seem weird and annoying to you, but they’re my opinions on the subject.
You can see in the first episode that they are friends who are able to discuss either’s relationships with ease. This is confirmed by the talk they have while smoking; Nate can easily discuss his relationship with Blair to Chuck. Most boys aren’t able to openly discuss relationships with each other, so this is a hint that they are closer friends than most teenage boys their age.
For some odd reason Nate sleeps in Chuck’s suite a lot. I think it’s because of the pressure that Nate’s parents are putting on him that he does this. But still, a girl can dream of what they are actually doing in that suite, right? ;D
Some people like to say that Chuck sleeping with Blair is a way to get back at Nate….I think this is a ludicrous idea. I love Chair. I love Chate. Why do I love Chate?
I love them because in Season One they were close friends. Chuck seems to care more about Nate than Nate does for Chuck, true, but Nate, in my opinion, is a screwed up character anyways. Nate has been written poorly and will probably always be written poorly just because he isn’t a very complex character so the writers don’t take time to really write his scenes.
Do Nate/Chuck have chemistry? You could look deep into their scenes and say yes. But you can look deep into any television show and point out gay couplings everywhere.
Are they gay? Um no. Would the writers ever make them gay? No.
I’ll finish my little argument with one of my favorite quotes.
“There are three things I care about Nathaniel; money, the pleasures money brings me, and you.”
